How It Works
The active ingredient (mBAS) is a pheromone naturally secreted by the mammary gland of lactating animals to calm their offspring. When topically applied, FerAppease is inhaled and assimilated by the vomeronasal organ in the nasal cavity. This immediately lowers the animal's "threat perception," resulting in smaller flight zones, lower inflammation, and better feed intake.
Usage & Administration
When to Apply: Use FerAppease every time cattle are exposed to management or physiological stressors, including:
- Weaning & Commingling
- Dehorning & Castration
- Vaccination & Branding
- Transportation (Apply before loading)
- Calving & Breeding (AI)
Dosage:
- Cattle > 200 lbs: Apply 10 mL total (5 mL in the divot behind the poll and 5 mL on the skin above the muzzle).
- Cattle < 200 lbs: Apply 5 mL total (2.5 mL behind the poll and 2.5 mL above the muzzle).
Application Tips:
- Duration: A single application is effective for 14 days.
- Weather: Apply to dry animals. Allow 30 minutes for absorption before exposure to rain.
Storage & Safety
Store at controlled room temperature between 10°C and 30°C (50°F - 86°F). Do not refrigerate or freeze. FerAppease has a two-year shelf life.
