  • Cord Cylinder for Lely Milking Robot – New Generation

Reliable Positioning for Lely A2, A3, and A4 Systems

Keep your milking robot operating with precision. This New Generation Cord Cylinder is a high-quality replacement part designed to ensure the smooth extension and retraction of the cord assembly within the Lely Astronaut milking arm.

As a direct replacement for the older 5.1004.6097.0 model, this updated version features improved internal seals and a more durable housing to withstand the high-cycle demands of a 24/7 dairy operation.

    Product Specifications

    • Corresponding Lely Part Number: Lely 5.1005.5071.0
    • Replaces/Supersedes: Lely 5.1004.6097.0
    • Condition: Brand New
    • Compatibility: Optimized for Lely Astronaut A2, A3, and A4 robotic milking systems.

    Key Features

    • Enhanced Longevity: Engineered with upgraded materials to reduce wear on the internal piston and cord guides.
    • Direct Fit: Manufactured to exact OEM specifications for a seamless "plug-and-play" installation, reducing maintenance downtime.
    • Consistent Tension: Provides steady pneumatic pressure to ensure the cord remains taut, preventing tangles or positioning errors during the milking process.
    • Corrosion Resistant: Built to handle the humid, high-moisture environment of the milking parlor.

    Why Replace Your Cord Cylinder?

A worn or leaking cord cylinder can lead to sluggish arm movements, "cord slack" errors, and potential downtime. Upgrading ensures your robot maintains the speed and accuracy required for maximum throughput.

Maintenance Tip: Optimal Cord Tension & Installation

To get the longest life out of your new Cord Cylinder, we recommend following these steps during installation:

    • Check the Cord Condition: Before installing the new cylinder, inspect the nylon cord for any fraying or thinning. A worn cord can cause uneven tension and put unnecessary strain on the cylinder’s internal seals.
    • Test the Pressure: Ensure your robot's pneumatic system is set to the correct operating pressure. Over-pressurizing can lead to premature seal failure, while under-pressurizing can cause "cord slack" errors.
    • Alignment Check: Once installed, manually cycle the arm to ensure the cord is tracking straight. Misalignment is the #1 cause of premature wear on the cylinder's exit guide.
    • Keep it Clean: Periodically wipe down the cord and the cylinder’s piston rod with a clean, damp cloth to remove manure or dust buildup that can be pulled into the cylinder housing
